On January, 21-23 2025 the West Pomeranian University of Technology in Szczecin hosted over 40 representatives from the universities united within the EUNICoast Allinace, one of the European Universities. In the meeting took part visitors from such remote places as the Azores, the Balearic Islands and the French overseas departments (French Antilles).
EUNICoast – the European University of Islands, Ports and Coastal Territories is an alliance of 12 universities from 11 countries. The first Board of Rectors and Steering Committee meeting focused on setting principles and timelines for seven work packages, discussing project management, and enhancing communication within the consortium. Rectors presented their universities’ strategies aligned with EUNICoast’s goals of fostering student and researcher mobility as well as collaboration in areas such as: blue circular economy, port logistics, cultural heritage preservation and sustainable energy.
Project partners had also a chance to learn more about ZUT research capacity while having a short tour of university laboratories at the three faculties most involved with the EUNICoast topics: Faculty of Maritime Technology and Transport (Department of Structural Mechanics), Faculty of Food Sciences and Fisheries and Faculty of Environmental Management and Agriculture (Department of Renewable Energy Engineering).
