ZUT for the second successive year stays on the seventh place in the country regarding the number of patents granted. The Polish Patent Office announced the data concerning innovative activity of Polish universities.
Last year 140 entities were granted 1239 patents altogether. That is 189 patents more than in the previous year (1050). The leaders of the ranking are invariably three universities: Lublin University of Technology (138), Rzeszow University of Technology (74) and Silesian University of Technology.
Innovation in ZUT remains at a similarly high level as in the previous year. Szczecin university gained 52 patents (2 more than in the previous year). Among inventions applied in ZUT last year the greatest number of cutting-edge solutions could be found in mechanical engineering, chemical engineering and material engineering. Very active in search for new solutions are also researchers developing their works in food technology and nutrition and also in animal husbandry and fisheries.
