'NBP Gold Index' for ZUT Economics Faculty student 12.11.2024 11:07

The National Bank of Poland has selected the best 100 economics students who applied for the first edition of the 'NBP Gold Index' scholarship programme. Scholarships worth PLN 10,000 for the academic year 2024/2025 were awarded to 49 first-year students and 51 second- and third-year students. In this group we have a representative of the Faculty of Economics at ZUT in Szczecin, a third-year economics student, Weronika Róża Ciejak.

Weronika studies accounting and finance in business units. Under the supervision of Dr Dawid Dawidowicz, she is preparing her bachelor's thesis on the impact of macroeconomic data on the values of stock indices. She was selected for the programme primarily based on her high GPA in the previous academic year and an essay on her academic interests, activities in the field of economics, entrepreneurship, and plans for the future. These include continuing her education in a Master's programme at the Faculty of Economics at ZUT.

Finance is the subject Ms Weronika is most interested in and she would like to pursue a career in this field in the future. She is currently pursuing her interests as an exchange student in Spain.

In addition to economics in the field of social sciences, ZUT recruits students for the Tourism Economics course, which prepares specialists for work in the tourism industry, and for the Management course with a practical profile. In addition to the knowledge acquired from the academic staff, the participants in these courses acquire practical skills through direct contact with representatives of business, financial institutions, or public administration. In the last two semesters, students undertake six-month work placements to prepare them for future work in human resources, marketing, and finance.

In the latest 'Perspektywy' ranking, Economics at ZUT was ranked the highest in West Pomerania.
