Rafał Rakoczy among the nominated professors 12.11.2019 13:32

The Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Chemical Technology and Engineering at the West Pomeranian University of Technology in Szczecin, Rafał Rakoczy received a title of professor from the President of the Republic of Poland Andrzej Duda. During the ceremony, which took place on November 6 at the Presidential Palace in Warsaw, 67 academic teachers as well as science and art staff received the nomination acts.

Professor Rafał Rakoczy is the author or co-author of 300 scientific papers. He was also the manager of three research grants financed by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education and leader in the LIDER project financed by the National Centre for Research and Development. Currently, he manages two projects from the National Science Centre and is the project manager of the PRELUDIUM program. Professor Rakoczy developed a degree program for the field of chemical engineering (first-cycle studies in English at the Faculty of Chemical Technology and Engineering) and organized a Doctoral School in which he is a director.

Rafał Rakoczy is a laureate of a scholarship for young scientists of the Foundation for Polish Science. He received the medal Amicus Scientiae et Veritatis awarded to young scientists by the Szczecin Scientific Society and a scholarship for a young outstanding scientist financed by the Minister of Science and Higher Education. In 2018, he was honoured with the West Pomeranian Nobel Prize.

 Referring to the Act on Academic Degrees and Academic Title and the degrees and ranks in Art, the President of the Republic of Poland shall award the professor degrees to the employees of the art and science as well as academic teachers. This title may be awarded to a person who obtained the postdoctoral degree, has experience in managing research teams implementing projects financed by national or foreign competitions or did internships at scientific institutions, including foreign ones, or conducted scientific work at scientific institutions, including foreign, has achievements in scientific mentoring.
