The final of the nationwide computer game design competition. Computer Science students with awards 30.06.2022 09:37

77 projects from 7 academic centres in Poland took part in the final of the National Team Competition for Computer Games Development. The competition was organized for the 14th time by the Lodz University of Technology. Our Faculty of Computer Science was represented by three teams. Two of them were awarded a special prize.

The competition has selected the most talented teams whose passion is focused on creating computer games and using innovative virtual reality technologies. During the finals in the EXPO Hall in Łódź on June 23-24, the young creators presented the games they designed. The competition was a good opportunity to exchange experiences in the field of creating computer games and the use of virtual reality.

The competition was attended by students, designers, and video game programmers, as well as mobile game designers, graphics, and game illustrators.

In this year's edition of the competition, the most interesting projects were awarded in six categories:  Game Design, Game Development, Mobile Games, Virtual Environment, Show Your Project, and Game Graphics Contest.

This year jury included representatives of companies such as: CD Project, Infinity Ward, 11bit studios, Creepy Jar, metapro.one, HTC Vive, Teyon, Techland, SuperHot, Render Cube, Afterburn, People Can Fly, Big Cheese Studio, Q-Loc, Something Random, Wasteland Interactive, Cleversan Games.

West Pomeranian University of Technology was represented by three teams. All the presented competition works were created at the Faculty of Computer Science as part of the "Computer games" course, conducted by Maja Dziśko.

The awards during the National Team Competition for Computer Games Development received:

1. In the Game Design category - Team Befrost: Mateusz Proci and Konrad Grzywaczewski, for the game "Wieża wspomnień". Trailer.

2. In the Virtual Environment category – Team Broken Fang Games Studio: Bartosz Karaś, Daniel Brzezicki, Krzysztof Mazurczak, Jakub Hubkiewicz and Sebastian Byczyk, for the game "Ringing Nightmare". Trailer

During the finals, the NoFog Games team: Kacper Siwek, Michał Zawadzki, Wojciech Osiak, Konrad Lipski and Oskar Wiszowaty, also presented their concept - the game "Millennium". Trailer
