Upcycling means transforming used and unwanted objects into products of higher quality. In this case, more than 60 kg of post-promotional materials (vinyl banners, flags, pennants) were transformed into bags, suit covers, kidneys, document folders, pouches. In total, more than 700 items were made from things that were no longer usable. Small items such as lock handles and headphone loops were made from used inner tubes from Szczecin City Bicycle. Sewn-on labels with the ZUT logo were printed on recycled material (PET bottles).
The products were made in sheltered workshops, where the ladies tried to optimise and maximise the use of the material, leaving as little waste as possible. Sewing took several weeks.
The exhibition of Aurelia Kołodziej's photographs, where the created products are presented by our students and employees (the University authorities - Rector of ZUT, Prof. Jacek Wróbel, Rector-elect Prof. Arkadiusz Terman and Chancellor Adrianna Gudzowska, as well as RCIiTT Director Joanna Niemcewicz) can be seen at RCIiTT, Jagiellońska 21-22 Street in Szczecin.
