Our university is a member of the EUNICoast alliance - a federation of 13 universities from Europe's islands and coastal regions.
The aim of this initiative is to develop together in the areas of education, research, mobility, and internationalisation, taking into account the needs of society and the specific characteristics of the blue economy.
What are European Universities?
They are international partnerships of universities that aim to become the European universities of the future.
The basic principles of European Universities are:
· a common integrated long-term strategy in the field of education, linked to research, innovation and society;
· a common European higher education campus, enabling the smooth movement of students, doctoral candidates and staff;
· integrated mobility at all levels of study;
· new common and flexible curricula, interdisciplinary and cross-sectoral;
· practical or work-based experience during studies, developing entrepreneurial attitudes and active citizenship;
· a student community that reflects the diversity of the population, including students from under-represented and disadvantaged groups.
This is a great step forward for our university and great opportunity for our students! Together we will strive to build a modern, sustainable, and innovative higher education system in Europe.
