In this year's Mortar Workability competition, organised by the American Concrete Institute (ACI), there were three competition categories:
Overall Efficiency Category - mix design with high fluidity and stability
Economical Design Category - for the lowest cost mix that meets specific rheological requirements
Ecological Design Category - a blend with a low carbon footprint of the materials used.
ZUT students with their 'super mortar' stood on the podium 3 times, winning the first two competitions, while in the last category they won 3rd place.
This year, more than 30 teams from all over the world competed in New Orleans, including Puerto Rico, Mexico, Indonesia, and Chile.
Unlike other concrete competitions that focus mainly on hardened concrete parameters, Mortar Workability focuses on the workability and rheological properties of cement mixtures.
The ACI Student Chapter at West Pomeranian University is the first student chapter of the American Concrete Institute in Poland. They are mainly involved in disseminating concrete knowledge to future engineers at the Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering in Szczecin.
Congratulations!
