The 10th edition of the "Leader" program has been completed. Program addressed to young scientists who are expanding their competences in independent planning of research and managing their own research team during the implementation of projects whose results may have practical application and have implementation potential.
The "Leader" program has been very popular among applicants from the very beginning, which is confirmed by the growing number of applicants every year. It is clearly visible that young, talented researchers at the beginning of their scientific careers have ambitious ideas with the potential for commercialization and enthusiasm to implement them - explains prof. Grzegorz Wrochna, Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education.
In the 10th edition of the program, 42 talented researchers joined the group of leaders, who received a total of PLN 60 million for conducting innovative research. During the gala, which took place on January 16 this year in Warsaw, they received awards and symbolic checks from the hands of the Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education, prof. Grzegorz Wrochna and the director of The National Centre for Research and Development Wojciech Kamieniecki.
The winners of the program are bold people who have accepted the challenge and want to initiate their own research, create research teams and manage the entire project. For them it is a great opportunity and responsibility. For The National Centre for Research and Development, it is the prospect of expanding the group of beneficiaries with an ambitious, specialized staff, perfectly familiar with the ecosystem of Polish and global innovations. For all of us it is a chance for inventions that will revolutionize specific areas of our lives - said Wojciech Kamieniecki, director of The National Center for Research and Development.
Paweł Adamski (Faculty of Chemical Technology and Engineering WPUT), within the allocated funds (PLN 1.5 million) will examine new catalysts that will be able to find their application in chemical plants producing nitrogen fertilizers. Paulina Bednarczyk (Faculty of Chemical Technology and Engineering WPUT) together with her research team will develop intelligent (self-repairing) UV-curable varnish. The total value of the project is PLN 1.3 million.
233 young researchers from all over Poland submitted their ideas for the 10th edition of the "Leader" program.
