According to the latest ranking, the Jagiellonian University is the best academic university in Poland, slightly ahead of the University of Warsaw, with the Warsaw University of Technology in third place, and the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań is in fourth place.
ZUT was ranked 9th among technical universities. The West Pomeranian University of Technology in Szczecin was awarded first place for innovation, obtaining 100 percent in the ranking index. In the ranking by subject in the fields of engineering - Chemical engineering and Material engineering ranked fifth.
Academic HEIs Ranking 2021 includes 27 indicators grouped into seven criteria: Prestige, Graduates on the labor market, Academic potential, Academic effectiveness, Innovation and Internationalization. This makes it one of the most extensive and transparent educational rankings in the world. It is also one of four that have the international "IREG Approved" quality certificate. Its methodology is being developed by the Ranking board chaired by prof. Michał Kleiber, former president of the Polish Academy of Sciences.
