17.02.2020Scientists from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Mechatronics WPUT made replicas of 13th and 16th century sculptures using a CNC Milling Machine

Replica of the 13th-century statue "Mary with the Child" from Gardno and the 16th-century bas-relief depicting the Apostles were made at the West Pomeranian University of Technology in Szczecin using a CNC Milling Machine. The tool, usually used in industry, allowed to reproduce the smallest details of works of art.

Paulina Bednarczyk and Paweł Adamski were recognized by The National Centre for Research and Development and joined the group of 42 talented young scientists from all over the country. They received almost PLN 3 million to carry out their innovative research.

17.02.2020West Pomeranian University of Technology in Szczecin on the Polish Roadmap for Research Infrastructure for the first time

The Ministry of Science and Higher Education has published a list of strategic research infrastructures creating the Polish Roadmap for Research Infrastructure. The list included WPUT with the project - "Centre of Advanced Materials and Engineering of Manufacturing Processes". The map brings together infrastructures with the highest potential for scientific excellence, consolidating research potential in fields relevant to the development of science and the country.

The head of the Department of Manufacturing Technology and a scientist from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Mechatronics of the West Pomeranian University of Technology in Szczecin - Bartosz Powałka - received a professor nomination from the President of the Republic of Poland Andrzej Duda. During the ceremony, which took place on December 12, 2019, at the Presidential Palace in Warsaw, 81 academic teachers as well as employees of the art and science received the nominations.

Jarosław Gowin, Minister of Science and Higher Education handed nominations to the new members of the Polish Accreditation Committee. Nomination for a member of the Committee was received by prof. Wiesław Skrzypczak, employee of the Department of Physiology, Cytobiology and Proteomics at the Faculty of Biotechnology and Animal Husbandry WPUT.
