In the POLNOR CCS competition, which focuses on the carbon dioxide capture and storage, 6 out of 17 submitted applications were selected. The head of the Department of Manufacturing Technology and a scientist from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Mechatronics of the West Pomeranian University of Technology in Szczecin - Bartosz Powałka - received a professor nomination from the President of the Republic of Poland Andrzej Duda. During the ceremony, which took place on December 12, 2019, at the Presidential Palace in Warsaw, 81 academic teachers as well as employees of the art and science received the nominations.
