Eight of our young scientists received awards and distinctions in the 14th edition of the city competition - The Mayor of Szczecin Awards for the best scientific work. President Piotr Krzystek presented the awards to fifteen best young scientists from six Szczecin universities.

20.07.2022Our scientists have entered the third stage of work on the hydrogen energy buffer

The West Pomeranian University of Technology, together with the University of Szczecin and Enea Operator, are implementing an innovative research project called H2eBuffer. As a result, a hydrogen energy buffer will be created to store energy and stabilize the operation of the power grid. The system will use green hydrogen produced using renewable energy. The project has entered the third stage, in which Enea Operator will build a buffer prototype based on research carried out by universities. The location of the prototype will be GPZ ŁOBEZ (West Pomeranian Voivodeship).

5.07.2022Team of our scientists awarded during the R&D Impact gala

In the Gdańsk business centre - Olivia Business Centre, 34 winners from Polish research centres were awarded. Among them was prof. Urszula Narkiewicz from the Faculty of Chemical Technology and Engineering, who received an award for developing an innovative technology of CO2 capture from flue gases and its further use.

At the end of May, a ceremonial meeting was held at the Presidential Palace, during which Paweł Szrot, Chief of the Cabinet of the President of the Republic of Poland, on behalf of Andrzej Duda, granted orders and national decorations. Among the awarded were representatives of our university.

The West Pomeranian Nobel award for 2021 was granted to Adam Lepczyński and Karolina Wenelska - scientists from our university. Their works have a significant impact on the development of science, while their research is published in the largest scientific journals.
